9:45 AM | 10:00 AM | General Announcements
10:00 AM | 10:50 AM | Clinic #1 - MTA Hudson Division
Presented by Robert Welk Jr.
This is a photo trip along the MTA Hudson Line from 125th Street to Hudson, NY. The Hudson Line is quite scenic because it runs along the river, sometimes on it. These pictures were taken form 2007, then 2019-2021. Most were taken at stations along the line. Some photos at Croton-Harmon were from the 2007 open house. I also include some photos that should be of interest to modelers.
11:00 AM | 11:50 AM | Clinic #2 - Badger Car Ferry
Presented by Ken Hojnacki
From our sister division in Madison Wisconsin: “Seventy Years and Steaming.” For nearly seventy years, the SS Badger railroad car ferry has been crossing Lake Michigan, hauling freight cars for the Pere Marquette/Chesapeake & Ohio and in later years, vehicles, and passengers. Her keel was laid in 1951 and she was launched in 1952 and is now the only remaining commercial vessel on the Great Lakes powered by steam. We’ll take a virtual voyage on this National Historic Landmark and even go where few have been allowed—the engine room. Come aboard with us.
Stops | 1:00 PM | 4:00 PM | Roy Behlke will be opening his 30 ft long, 50's era HO Scale layout for an open house. The layout is U shaped with wider sections on the end to permit turning radius for continuous running. There is access behind the layout, so everything is within a 2-foot reach. |
Currently, we have been able to secure only one layout in the Manchester Connecticut area. If you live in that general area and would like to open-up your layout for the August 14 event, please contact Don Weigt at dweigt47@gmail.com as soon as possible. |
